Activity in the prime London sales property market dropped in April, fresh analysis of the prime London housing market by LonRes has revealed. UK house prices rose at their fastest pace since the end of 2022 in the 12 months to March, according to official data published on Wednesday. Average house prices increase by an annual 6.4%, the fastest increase since December 2022 and up from a 5.5% increase in February, the Office for National Statistics said. Yesterday’s bigger-than-expected inflation surge in April has prompted investors to bet on the Bank of England slowing its already gradual pace of interest rate cuts. The annual inflation rate hit 3.5% in April, up from 2.6% in March, as the rise in the cost of household bills pushes UK inflation higher.
