Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) has confirmed that a consultation on the future of the site is ongoing and will run until July 25. It comes after The New Surgery, which has branches in Kilmacolm and Langbank, requested to close the Renfrewshire-based service. The surgery recently sent a letter to patients, advising them that it had reached the “hard decision” to close the branch. Councillor James MacLaren has slammed the plans, insisting the move is a “hammer blow” to local patients. Around 6.45am on Sunday (April 27) a man is reported to have tried door handles at a home in Harrow Road, Gillingham.  They then drove off in a van before allegedly stealing copper and power tools from two other places on the same road. A search by officers led to Dartford where the van was found parked and unattended in St Johns Road. After waiting nearby, police arrested two suspects and found copper piping, electrical cables and a Stihl chop saw. Emergency services were called to Collyer Avenue in Bognor on April 18 at 11.45am.  Sussex Police has said the fire is being treated as deliberate.
