Satellite data show that wildland fires once scattered across the Arctic are now surging in numbers—particularly in northern Eurasia—and many are burning more intensely than before. Hospice in the Weald, based in Pembury, is donating its former ward beds to East Sussex charity Medi Tech Trust as part of a refurbishment project. Although the beds are no longer suitable for hospice use, Medi Tech Trust will distribute them to healthcare organisations, educational institutions and hospitals overseas.
