The Bitcoin price surged through the $96,000 level this afternoon, pushing decisively above a key resistance zone and signaling a renewed wave of bullish momentum after weeks of choppy, range-bound trading. At the time of writing, the bitcoin price is trading around $96,000 up roughly 4.4% over the past 24 hours, according to market data. The breakout marks a clear move beyond the upper boundary of January’s consolidation range. Bitcoin price is now hovering near its weekly highs, sitting approximately 5% above its seven-day low near $91,700, as buyers regain control of short-term market structure. All this is happening as…
On Monday (January 19), Cllr Claire Dowling, East Sussex County Council’s lead member for transport, is set to consider a petition calling for “traffic calming measures” in The Village — a residential road surrounding the Meads Village Allotments. In a report to Cllr Dowling, officers said the petition was prompted by residents’ concerns around “excessive speeding of vehicles using the road as a route to avoid traffic on Meads Street.” But officers have concluded the road would not meet the council’s criteria for intervention. The report reads: “The county council has a limited amount of funding available to develop local…
According to UKHospitality’s 2026 trend report, “plant-forward” dining is expected to influence a widespread shift across the industry this year. As strict vegan diets become less common, a larger group of flexitarians – diners who favour a balance of both meat and plant-based dishes – are now shaping menus.Perhaps in quiet rebellion against the strict veganism of previous years, 2025 was defined as the year of protein. Meat-heavy menus and high-protein hacks dominated both social media and restaurant menus. However, 2026 appears to be a little more moderate, as this data suggests the future of eating out isn’t all-or-nothing.For hospitality…

In the far north, wildfires are breaking old patterns. Satellite data show that wildland fires once scattered across the Arctic are now surging in numbers—particularly in northern Eurasia—and many are burning more intensely than before. These maps show the number of fires detected by the MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) sensors on NASA’s Aqua and Terra satellites. The map on the left shows fire detections from 2002 to 2012 (yellow), while the map on the right shows detections from 2012 to 2024 (orange). The largest circles indicate areas with 15,000 or more detected fires, while the smallest circles represent areas with 1,000 or fewer. Fire…
