The Post Office has announced that 115 branches are at risk of closure or transfer to other retail partners or postmasters, leaving around 1,000 jobs at risk. Included in the list is the Melville Road branch in Hove, the Brighton Road branch in Lancing,  the Devonshire Square branch in Bexhill and the Leylands Road branch in Burgess Hill. Carling Poynter, 18, stabbed a 15-year-old during an altercation in Burdock Close, Crawley, at around 11.20pm on May 5. The boy was taken to hospital in a serious condition and has since been discharged. Poynter, of Snowdrop Close in Crawley, was arrested on May 6 on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a knife and was later charged.
