The Victoria Fountain, in Old Steine, sputtered to a halt as the result of a burst pipe and, even when repaired, won’t be switched back on until next spring. Water is piped to the fountain from a borehole but the damage to the pipe was not caused by the restoration work, Brighton and Hove City Council said. Berkshire Hathaway sold its shares in the Paytm-parent firm One97 Communications Friday, booking a loss of about 40% on the investment it made more than five years ago. Callum Walsh, 29, formerly of Warren Road in Barnham, first met his victim in December last year. Walsh subjected the woman to paranoid, coercive and threatening behaviour, attempting to control where she went and who she saw. The abuse lasted for many weeks, and when Walsh felt the woman had fallen out of his control, he would violently assault her.
