Elsie Butler, who lives at Dean Wood Bupa Care Home in Brighton, was approaching the big day and staff at the home wanted to make sure she got plenty of cards to mark the much-loved resident’s centenary. They put out an appeal which was published in The Argus and she received 400 birthday cards. To celebrate on November 28, Elsie was joined by family, friends and fellow residents for an afternoon tea at Dean Wood’s Sea View café. Meta has received another formal request for information (RFI) from European Union regulators seeking more details of its response to child safety concerns on Instagram — including what it’s doing to tackle risks related to the sharing of self-generated child sexual abuse material (SG-CSAM) on the social network. Train drivers have voted overwhelmingly to continue taking strike action for the next six months in their long-running dispute over pay. Members of Aslef backed more industrial action after being reballoted, well over a year since the dispute began. The announcement was made as train drivers started a week-long overtime ban which was expected to cause disruption to services across England. Police officers are investigating after reports that the vehicles parking on Lochburn Road, North Glasgow, had their windows broken. An eyewitness also said that the cars’ boots were “wide open”.
