The Liberal Democrat Party has warned that nearly 1,000 sewage spills took place at Christmas swimming locations across the country including Eastbourne. The party said that the warning was a “real Christmas stink” as it called for a ban on sewage dumping at bathing sites. A new snapshot of an ancient, far-off galaxy could help scientists understand how it formed and the origins of our own Milky Way. At more than 12 billion years old, BRI 1335-0417 is the oldest and furthest known spiral galaxy in our universe. Victor Hugo Pereira Vargas, 63, from Colombia, was found dead with apparently self-inflicted wounds in his hotel room on October 13. A Sussex police spokesman said his death “is not being treated as suspicious”.
