A new report by Google found that about half of the zero-day bugs it tracked last year exploited enterprise devices, marking a new high for hackers who are increasingly finding new ways to target large companies and steal their data. According to the search and security giant’s annual report, 48% of the tracked zero-days — vulnerabilities in software that are unknown to its maker at the time they are exploited — were found in technologies used by corporations and large businesses. About half of those zero-days exploited the very devices that are designed to protect enterprise networks from digital intruders.…

Hi, thanks as always for reading TechCrunch. We want to talk with you quickly about something important. A growing number of scammers are impersonating TechCrunch reporters, editors, and event leads and reaching out to companies, pretending to be our staff when they absolutely are not. (Here is a list of all of our actual staff.) These bad actors are using our name and reputation to try to dupe unsuspecting businesses. It drives us crazy and infuriates us on your behalf. Judging by the increased number of emails we’re receiving, asking, “Does this person really work for you?” it appears to…

Iceberg A-23A has had a more eventful run than most of the large Antarctic icebergs that have calved from the continent’s ice shelves in recent decades. Over its winding, forty-plus-year journey, the “megaberg” spent decades grounded in the Weddell Sea before drifting north, twirling in an ocean vortex for months, and nearly colliding with an island in 2025. By 2026, the iconic iceberg, sopping with meltwater and shedding smaller bergs as it moved into warmer ocean waters, put on one more show. The chunks of ice and frigid glacial meltwater left in its wake appear to have fueled a surge…
Brighton and Hove City Council has today published an independent report from the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy on lessons learnt from the original decision to extend a loan to the i360. The report confirmed visitor numbers were significantly overestimated and that “optimism bias” was evident throughout the business plan. The report confirms what The Argus revealed in 2022 when the business case that helped convince politicians to approve a £36 million taxpayer-backed loan to build the i360 was accidentally handed to The Argus by council officials. And this new report states the business plan was “naive”. It states:…
