Kyle Dumble, 26, of no fixed address spoke only to confirm his name at a short hearing in Lewes Crown Court. He is charged with murdering Jack Field, 24, in Hailsham last Saturday night (November 18) and attempted grievous bodily harm with intent against a man named Jake Barry. Dumble is also charged with driving while disqualified and driving without insurance. He will appear in court again in the new year. The Victoria Fountain, in Old Steine, sputtered to a halt as the result of a burst pipe and, even when repaired, won’t be switched back on until next spring. Water is piped to the fountain from a borehole but the damage to the pipe was not caused by the restoration work, Brighton and Hove City Council said. Callum Walsh, 29, formerly of Warren Road in Barnham, first met his victim in December last year. Walsh subjected the woman to paranoid, coercive and threatening behaviour, attempting to control where she went and who she saw. The abuse lasted for many weeks, and when Walsh felt the woman had fallen out of his control, he would violently assault her.
