Billy Ripley, who has been described as a “loving, caring and kind” man, died in Hailsham town centre from his wounds last Thursday, August 29. Police launched a murder investigation after paramedics declared him dead at the scene in the Vicarage Field shopping centre at around 6.20pm. On May 2, 2024, Carlton Gregoire and two “criminal associates” travelled to Kent in a Hyundai. They parked near to The Brent, covered their faces and climbed a lamppost. This allowed them to get into the Dartford property by forcing a window open. The two men, who were holding a knife and a bottle, threatened the occupant of the property. Samantha Parsons, of no fixed address, was arrested on Sunday, August 25. Police had been refuelling a police car at the Asda garage on Swanley High Street when they were alerted about the shoplifting allegations. An area search was carried out which led to the arrest of 50-year-old Parsons, who was riding a bike on Kingswood Road at the time.
