Emergency services were called to the scene at around 3am today to reports of a crash involving a lorry and two cars between junctions J5 at Chevening and J6 at Godstone. As a result all four lanes of the M25 clockwise were closed for five hours and were reopened at 7.45am. Both lanes were also closed on the M25 clockwise entry slip at junction 5, with delays of up to 50 minutes between J5 and J6. South Lanarkshire Council (SLC) is consulting on closing a raft of facilities as it struggles to balance its budget, including a number of libraries.   But the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals in Scotland (Cilips), has urged the local authority to re-think its plans amid ‘grave concerns’ over the impact the closures would have on local people.   Seven libraries were initially earmarked for closure at the start of last month, but this is now thought to have been downgraded to five.  The move comes after South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture (SLLC) withdrew its services from a number…

Lee Silvester, 41, of Lullingstone Crescent in Bromley, was sentenced at Kingston Crown Court on April 10 after being found guilty of four counts of conspiracy to supply and four counts of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs. In April 2022, officers from Metropolitan Police observed a man at a storage unit in west London. He was stopped and arrested in the process of unloading class A drugs from his vehicle.
