Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses after the woman was assaulted in the early hours of July 5.
The victim, a 41-year-old woman from Hastings, was walking in Havelock Road in the town at around 4am when she was attacked by a group of three people.
She attended hospital where she was treated for facial injuries, police said.
A spokesperson for the force asked members of the public with information or evidence to get in touch with them.
They said: “There were a number of people in the area – close to the taxi rank – when the incident occurred and we’re urging anyone who saw what happened, or anyone who captured any relevant footage, to contact us.
