He was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 26 years for the murder of 39-year-old Leon Anderson.

Abdulmanon Aliev, 50, tried to rape a 13-year-old girl on a London-bound train.
The 50-year-old, from Rye Lane in Peckham, targeted the girl on a service travelling from Southend to London on June 16 last year.
British Transport Police said the Tajikistan man sat opposite the girl and tried to communicate with her using a translator app.
When she moved away, he followed and sat in the aisle seat, blocking her escape. He then subjected her to a prolonged sexual assault until the train arrived at London Fenchurch Street.
The victim managed to escape and boarded another train out of London, where she raised the alarm. Aliev was arrested eleven days later by plain-clothes officers in Peckham.
Police seized the clothing he wore during the incident whilst carrying out a search in his home. He was charged the following day.
He was found guilty in April of attempted rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and three counts of sexual assault.

Eltham abuser kicked treated pregnant girlfriend as ‘punching bag’
Jordan Tattan (Image: Met Police)
Jordan Tattan, 33, treated his girlfriend as a “punching bag” for more than a year.
Tattan, of Sidcup Road in Eltham, carried out a campaign of violence against his partner between December 2024 and January 2026.
It was reported that he repeatedly punched her in the face and kicked a bucket at her stomach while she was heavily pregnant.
Judge David Miller, who gave Tattan a five-year sentence, said he hadn’t seen a litany of domestic violence as bad as this for some time.
As Judge Miller read his sentencing remarks, Tattan shook his head in disagreement.
Judge Miller said: “I don’t know how you could disagree with this. You treated her as a punching bag for 13 months.
“Every time you had a mood swing, every time you were down because you were craving alcohol, you attacked her.
“I haven’t seen such a litany of domestic violence committed by one person broadly against one complainant as bad as this for some time.”
Lewisham sex offender pounced on girl, 14
Marian Toader (Image: Met Police)
Marian Toader, 50, was jailed for asking a child “how much for sex” on Lewisham High Street, whilst his friend who sexually assaulted the same girl remains on the loose.
The 15-year-old girl was walking near Taco Bell when she was approached by an older man who put his arm around her and asked her to follow him.
“She felt very unnerved and unable to resist as he had his arm around her,” prosecutor Kathryn Hirst said.
She was taken to a doorstep on Morley Road where the first man – who said his name was George – introduced her to Toader.
Despite the child telling both men she was fifteen, they offered her alcohol, and Toader said: “How much for sex? Come back with us and we’ll f*** you.”
The unidentified man sexually assaulted the girl before she escaped by telling them her father was on his way.
Toader was later arrested after one of the victim’s family members spotted him on Lewisham High Street, but the first man has not yet been identified. Toader was sentenced to four years and three months in prison.
He had initially denied making any comment to the child, but later pleaded guilty to attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.

He contacted prospective tenants by email, provided tenancy agreements, and asked for deposits and advance rent payments to be sent to bank accounts under his control.
Once the payments were received, Priestley repeatedly contacted his victims with false excuses, including fabricated stories of family bereavements, explaining why the rental could not proceed.
He did not own the property and had no legal right to rent it out. He was sentenced to two years and 11 months in prison.

Deptford masseur sexually assaulted clients
Dehong Tan (Image: Met Police)
Dehong Tan, 55, sexually assaulted women after giving them pills during acupuncture and massage sessions.
Tan was convicted of sexual assaults on two women at Acupuncture and Herbs at 115 Deptford High Street.
Detailing one sexual assault in early 2025, prosecutor Michael Chambers said: “[The woman] was sexually assaulted in the sixth session, but there were a number of red flags in earlier sessions.”
These included an incident in which his erect penis brushed against her during a massage, and inappropriate comments he made about her breasts and groin area. She also alleged that during two earlier sessions, he pinched her nipples.
Mr Chambers said: “In session six she arrived late and usually the session started with a massage.
“She was given two blue pills and described feeling drowsy and sleeping. At the time she was just wearing her knickers. She was woken by Mr Tan’s hand on her vagina.”
Detailing the other incident, also in early 2025, Mr Chambers said that another woman was sexually assaulted during her second session with Tan.
He gave her five brown pills at the start of the session and then during the massage he “played with” her breast and her vagina, Mr Chambers said.
He was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison.
