People gathered for Worthing Pride’s parade on the promenade before taking part in the colourful march to Beach House Grounds.

A two-minute silence was observed at Worthing Pier in remembrance of those lost from the LGBTQ+ community and in recognition of the ongoing fight for equality.

Ahead of the event, Gary Richardson, director of Worthing Pride, said: “The Worthing Pride Parade is the moment our entire community comes together.

“Seeing more than 800 people marching along our beautiful seafront sends a powerful message that Worthing is a town where everyone is welcome.

“Every year we’re overwhelmed by the support from residents, visitors and businesses who line the route to celebrate with us.”

The Worthing Pride Festival is underway today and tomorrow at Steyne Gardens.

There will be live music, drag performances, community entertainment, food and drink, market stalls and family-friendly activities.
