Bellahouston Park’s Summer Sessions cause headaches to residents of Mosspark every year as they wrangle its road closures.

This year, houses were given passes according to their area which would allow drivers to pass barricades and arrive back at their homes theoretically stress free.

The simple system has not worked out perfectly though, as some have found themselves confused about what roads they are permitted access to.

Waseem Afzal asked the Mosspark and Corkerhill Community and Residents Facebook page: “Did anybody get a purple pass for the concerts? We got a green pass and apparently only purple passes are allowed through?”

Even as those with homes in the area struggle to find their way, onlookers have spotted fresh faces managing to make their way through.

Mosspark resident Manoor Sultan spotted such an occurrence, posting on Facebook: “What is the point of all these residential permits when anyone is being allowed in?

“This guy who is obviously not a resident in the area has parked his big black car in front of my house and walked away. When my husband gets home from work later tonight he will have no where to park cause the street is all parked up.”

Today is only the first of six events to take place over the week, with acts like Alanis Morissette, Pitbull and My Chemical Romance to take the park’s stage.

There will be plenty of opportunity for the new system to struggle again as shows will bring up to 35,000 attendees.

Drivers planning on driving around the area during gigs are advised to find an alternate route as the extensive closures will cause delays.
