The incident happened at around 7.20am today (June 8) on the M25 at Junction 1B (Dartford).

There have been no injuries reported, and no officers or paramedics were required to attend the scene.

National Highways reports that lanes one and two (of four) remain closed southbound between the A296 and A225 following the incident.

Drivers are facing delays of more than 80 minutes on approach routes, with congestion stretching back over the QE2 Bridge to Junction 29 (A127, Romford).

Queues are also building on the A13 back towards Grays.

Normal traffic conditions are expected to return between 4pm and 4.15pm today.

Motorists are being urged to allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes where possible while recovery work continues.
