Kent Horses were well beaten in the summer sunshine at Lord’s on Friday afternoon.
Defending champions Middlesex proved too strong in their Women’s Vitality Blast League Two clash, ripping through the Horses’ battling line-up.
Earlier, Kent did well to restrict Middlesex to 160-6 after they looked well placed on 83-1 at the midway point.
Skipper Saskia Horley dominated the strike and run scoring for the hosts, hitting a 36-ball half-century as she put on 109 for the second wicket with Isabella Routledge.
Horley pulled Horses skipper Megan Belt to Coco Streets at square leg to depart for 70 off 50 balls, leaving Middlesex 111-2 from 13 overs.
Nelson struck again and it was two wickets in three balls when Isabella James bowled Routledge for 26.
Amy Gordon, having removed opener Abbie Whybrow for two in the first over, had Finty Trussler caught at long-off for 25 to leave Middlesex 147-4 in the 19th.
Two wickets in the final over, including a run out, ensured the hosts didn’t get beyond 160.
Gordon was bowled for a first-ball duck by Sonali Patel as the Horses’ reply got off to the worst possible start.
It was 7-2 in the second over when the in-form Streets played a big shot across the line and was bowled by Katie Wolfe.
Kelly Castle edged Patel behind at the start of the third over for one.
Maddie Blinkhorn-Jones hit a couple of boundaries before looping a catch to backward point and Kent were 21-4 in the fourth over.
Elsa Barnfather was called through for a single on the leg side that was never there in the fifth over as the Horses kept up their run of losing a wicket in every over.
Hollie Young was trapped in front from the first ball of the sixth over for four, leaving the Horses 28-6.
Kent survived the seventh over but Zeena Bilal top-edged to mid-wicket two balls into the eighth over.
Wolfe (5-19) picked up her fifth wicket from the next ball as wicketkeeper Scarlett Hughes made good ground to remove James without score.
Kent lost their ninth wicket when Sydney Gorham’s outside edge gifted Riva Pindoria a simple catch in the 12th over.
The Horses were all out for 54 when Belt was run out in the 14th over as they lost by 106 runs.
