Person hit by car after election count at Worthing Leisure Centre - UK Daily: Tech, Science, Business & Lifestyle News Updates

The incident occurred outside the front entrance of Worthing Leisure Centre yesterday, May 8.

The collision happened shortly after the conclusion of the count for Adur District Council, Worthing Borough Council and local West Sussex County Council votes.

Sussex Police, who attended alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service, confirmed the collision involved a pedestrian and a car.

Minor injuries were reported.

People leaving the leisure centre were advised to use a different exit following the incident.

Earlier in the day, people were advised to stay inside the leisure centre due to a swarm of “thousands” of bees outside the main entrance.

The swarm moved away from the front of the building shortly after.

Yesterday’s results saw Labour lose overall control of Worthing Borough Council, which now has no majority.

Adur District Council retained it’s Labour control.
