Dack returned for his second spell at Gillingham in the summer of 2024, after injury problems meant he had to drop down levels.

He’d previously impressed in the Championship at Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland.

Dack has scored seven goals for the Gills this season and put his injury problems behind him. His start against Shrewsbury Town on the final day was his 42nd appearance of the season.

It’s 10 years on from when Dack scooped a haul of awards at the end of the 2015/16 season, including the POTY award.

With Gills’ end-of-season awards dinner scrapped, Dack was presented with his trophy prior to the warm-ups for Saturday’s game.

He recently signed a new contract with the Gills and will hope to help the team to a much-improved showing on the pitch.

Sam Gale, meanwhile, was awarded the young player-of-the year award after another impressive season at centre-half.

Max Clark picked up two trophies after being named players’ player-of-the-year and also winning the goal-of-the-season award.
