The Bombay in Swanley, a family-run Indian restaurant, has been shortlisted for the UK Top 100 Asian Restaurant Awards 2026, placing it among the country’s leading Asian restaurants just a year after opening.
The awards are organised by the Asian Catering Federation (ACF), which represents the UK’s Asian catering industry and more than 30,000 businesses nationwide.
The list highlights the UK’s best Asian restaurants across cuisines including Indian, Bangladeshi, Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese.
The winners will be announced at a gala dinner and awards ceremony held at the Members’ Dining Room in the House of Commons today (April 30).
Kobir Hussain, co-owner of The Bombay Swanley, said: “We’re incredibly honoured to be shortlisted.
“A heartfelt thank you to our amazing team, whose hard work and commitment bring our vision to life every single day, and to our wonderful guests for your continued support and trust.
“You are at the heart of our journey.
“We’re more motivated than ever to keep raising the bar, pushing boundaries, and delivering memorable dining experiences.”
The restaurant is the second business under The Bombay brand, run by Shahjahan Miah, MJ Miah and Kobir Hussain, alongside its long-running restaurant in Orpington.
The Orpington restaurant has been trading for more than four decades.
The Bombay in Swanley is a high-end curry house serving a range of Indian and Bangladeshi dishes.
The menu includes tandoori and biryani dishes, as well as signature plates such as Rumjhum-style chicken and Goan-style coconut curries.
Previously, The Bombay in Swanley won national newcomer of the year at the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards 2025.
At the same ceremony, its sister restaurant The Bombay Orpington won Kent restaurant of the year.
