Fresh ‘n’ Fruity, located on Cumming Drive in Mount Florida, is known for its wide selection of fruit and veg, as well as other wholefoods, fairtrade, organic, vegan and gluten-free products.
Owners Sardar and Shahida Ali opened the store in 1993, but retired last year, and the shop was taken over by family-run Zucchini Greengrocers.
Today, April 6, 2026, the shop has revealed they will be pulling the shutters down for good and they will be having an “everything must go” sale to clear out remaining stock.
In a statement released on their social media, Fresh ‘n; Fruity said: “It’s with a heavy heart that we announce Fresh ‘n’ Fruity will be closing It’s doors permanently on Monday 13th April.
“It has been an incredible journey, and we are so grateful for the support.
“To say thank you & clear out our remaining stock- we are launching our 20% CLOSING DOWN SALE!!!
“STARTING TODAY EVERYTHING MUST GO!!!
“We’d like to see you one last time.”
Within minutes of the news being shared, customers were quick to express their sadness.
One said: “Sorry it hasn’t worked out for you.”
Another added: “Very sorry to hear this, times are very hard for small businesses. Wishing you all the very best for the future.
Will a third said: “So sorry to hear this and sending love to all those who have kept fresh and fruity going for so many years. It will be missed.”
