Gillingham’s chairman Brad Galinson has admitted this season has fallen well short of expectations – and promised major changes in the summer.
The chairman issued a candid message to supporters on social media, a day after the Gills’ 2-2 draw at Walsall, acknowledging the club’s struggles while outlining plans for a “complete rehaul” ahead of next season.

Galinson wrote: “No denying [it’s been a] s*** season. Complete rehaul coming in [the] summer. Hopefully we learn, improve, and build it better.”
Despite the disappointment of the campaign, the owner pointed to positives from Friday’s performance, where Gillingham fought to earn a point against promotion-chasing opposition.
“Seeing the potential with those goals was something to build on,” he added.
The owner also praised the travelling supporters, who once again turned out in strong numbers and made themselves heard throughout the game, writing: “Seeing our fans, as usual, travelling and chanting was something I needed. Thanks for that.”
Attention is already beginning to turn towards next season, with Galinson hinting at an upcoming season ticket launch and calling on fans to continue their backing.
“At some point soon we’re going to ask for that support for next season with a cool season ticket launch,” he said.
“Wish it was better this season but we move on.”
Looking ahead, Galinson struck an optimistic tone, pointing to the reset that the summer will bring, including pre-season preparations and a fresh start for the squad.
“Look to the World Cup; pre-season; friendlies (we have some solid matches); and we go again, together, like we always do.”
Gillingham have endured a difficult run in League Two but showed signs of improvement in their draw at Walsall, with the focus now on finishing the season strongly before a significant rebuild in the close season.
The Gills face Accrington Stanley at home on Easter Monday.
