A 27-year-old man was arrested last night, Friday, March 13, following a report of a woman being raped in Lyndhurst Road car park, Worthing.
The incident is reported to have taken place at around 8pm on Wednesday, March 11.
Sussex Police said that the man remains in custody at this time.
Police added that the woman, in her 20s, is receiving continuing support from specialist officers.
There was an increased police presence in the area over Wednesday night and into Thursday morning, with a closure of the car park during the day as officers attempted to gather and preserve any evidence.
