St Kenneths Parish Church minister Allan Morton, who succeeded Rev Baxter as minister of the rural Fife congregation, remarked: “He will have left in your hearts, and in the hearts of many now with him in glory, a deeper knowledge of God and faith, and the impact of time shared with him, as Richard walked alongside you all in times of joy and sorrow, as your Minister and friend for eighteen and a half years.
“You will have many memories, and I hope that these memories are a comfort today as we begin to process the news of Richard’s passing.”
Fort William Kilnallie Church of Scotland added: “His wife Sheryl and his family were with him, and as always Richard’s thoughts were for others.
“He was an organ donor and his wishes have been carried out. We send our condolences, our love and our prayers to the whole family. Please keep them in your prayers.”
