Firefighters are currently battling the flames in Ashburnham Road, Eastbourne.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was first alerted to the incident at 4.55pm today, March 12.

As of 7pm, six appliances are at the scene. Crews continue to tackle the fire with a hose reel jet, ground monitors and the aerial ladder platform.

Nearby residents are asked to keep doors and windows closed and members of the public are asked to keep doors and windows closed.

Mill Road and Ashburnham Road are closed. Traffic is coping well.
