During the most recent operational performance and delivery scrutiny committee meeting questions were raised by Bailie Martha Wardrop about funding opportunities to continue this work.

Bailie Wardrop said: “The skills mix model talks about supporting victims of domestic violence through this new model. Is this funded in 2026/27?

“How is it going to be rolled out to new staff and ongoing training needs?”

A council officer advised that this was not a funded model but a partnership working model.

Glasgow has a number of partners across the council and the Health and Social Care Partnership and the training of staff is contributed through the partnership.

Bailie Anne McTaggart added: “We are in the process just now of lobbying both governments in Holyrood and at Westminster to look for more funds.

“So any power to anyone’s elbow please be on board because the increase in domestic, not just domestic abuse for women and girls in Glasgow has just shot through the roof to say the least.

“So we do need money, extra funds and we have asked for that to happen but as a partnership.”
