Earlier today, social media was flooded with complaints after users of Bank of Scotland, Lloyds, and Halifax apps saw “mystery” transactions appearing, showing payments and account details that did not belong to them.
Lloyds Banking Group has now said it is investigating the reports.
The bank further apologised to customers and noted that it is looking into the issue.
A Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson said: “We’re sorry that some customers experienced an issue viewing transactions in the app for a short time this morning.
“The issue was quickly resolved, and we’re looking into what happened.”
Taking to X [formerly Twitter], one person said they were able to see other people’s spending appearing and then disappearing in their account.

They wrote: “Serious problems with your mobile app today. I am getting other people’s bank account spending appearing on my account and then disappearing.
“I can’t access your fraud service to inform anyone. Sort it out. I have taken pictures to prove it.”
Another user who spoke to the Glasgow Times said: “I logged in and saw a payment I didn’t recognise, and I refreshed it and it was gone.
“Hundreds of payments kept appearing and disappearing, and it was for London transport and Pizza Express. Why are transactions coming out to London when I live in Scotland?
“I panicked, froze my card, but I can’t get through to anybody.”

It is still not clear how many customers have been affected.
A Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) spokesperson said: “We’re in contact with Lloyds Banking Group to understand what’s happened and how it’s being resolved.
“We expect firms to protect customer data and be able to respond to and quickly recover from disruptions.”
