A blaze which started on Union Street on Sunday destroyed a building block and shut down Central Station, which will not reopen in full until at least next week.
Glasgow has stepped in to host a scaled-back version of the 2026 Commonwealth Games, which is due to take place from July 23 to August 2.
The damage to the city centre, and potentially to transport infrastructure, raised questions over whether the event would be able to go ahead as planned.

However, the Scottish Government has assured that there will be no disruption to the Games.
A spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with Glasgow and everyone affected by the fire, and our gratitude goes to all those involved in the response to the incident.
“As the First Minister made clear during a visit to Glasgow on Monday, the Scottish Government will support the city in dealing with the financial and recovery implications of the incident.
“The Commonwealth Games will go ahead as planned, and we will work closely with our partners on any impact this fire may have on the event.”
The Commonwealth Games did not respond to a request for comment.
