Motorists are advised to avoid the area while the incident is ongoing
Emergency services were tasked to the scene of a collision involving a pedestrian and bus in Belfast city centre on Monday.
The incident happened earlier this afternoon, March 9, at Victoria Street, at the entrance to Victoria Square Carpark. One person has been taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast by Ambulance.
A police spokesman told Belfast Live: “Police are currently at the scene of a collision between a bus and a pedestrian in the Chichester Street area of Belfast city centre. Delays may occur in the area as a result.”
A spokesperson from NIAS told Belfast Live: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 14:30 on Monday, March 9, following reports of an RTC in the Chichester Street area, Belfast.
“NIAS dispatched one Emergency Ambulance, a Rapid Response Paramedic to the scene. HEMS were also tasked to the scene by car.
“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, 1 person was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast by Ambulance.”
Translink have also been approached for comment.
