Huge queues are building on the A2 after a crash involving “at least five vehicles” has blocked the four-lane carriageway.
The eastbound route is gridlocked from Bean Interchange to the A2260 exit for Northfleet, Ebbsfleet and Swanscombe following the incident.

Congestion is back to M25 J2/Darenth Interchange, with pictures showing bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Posting on X shortly after 6pm, a National Highways spokesperson said: “A2 eastbound within the A2260 junction near Ebbsfleet Valley 3 lanes (of 4) are closed due to a 5 vehicle collision.
“Kent Police are at the scene. Delays of 45 minutes, 5 miles of congestion, almost back to Coldblow and Bexley.”
Police have been contacted for comment.
