Located in Royal Parade, The Cockpit micropub won the award from Bromley CAMRA.

Taking to Instagram, the business wrote: “Thank you to Bromley CAMRA for awarding us Bromley pub of the year for 2026!

“Always an amazing line-up of pubs to rub shoulders with, really lucky to have such an eclectic abundance of first-rate boozers in the borough, so this means a lot to us.

“Big up to the troupe that sail the ship day to day, such a wicked team to be working with. And thanks to all you punters, we wouldn’t be here without you.”

First opening during the Covid pandemic of 2020, during what was largely considered a very turbulent time for business, The Cockpit became Chislehurst’s first micropub.

Being situated in a former florist, the shop has retained some of its rustic charm with floral detailing, reclaimed surface boards, and a chalkboard menu.

Run by Adam Miller, The Cockpit has had a long line of success since opening five years ago, winning a plethora of awards including numerous CAMRA branch pub of the year awards and being a runner-up in the CAMRA Greater London region pub of the year award in 2024 and 2025.

The pub takes its name from the ancient cockpit that is said to have once been a part of Chislehurst Common and was created by Paul Steadman and Rick Hon.

The pub serves up seven rotating cask ales, along with their house beer, Pit, as well as a range of fine ciders, Wessex gins, and sommelier-selected wines.

As for food, The Cockpit serves up traditional pub fare with Neal’s Yard cheeses, Crown and Queue cured charcuterie, and ploughman’s-style sharing boards.

The pub has earned a high rating from locals with a 4.8-star rating on Google, with reviewers praising it for its good selection of ales and others commenting on its novelty “£1 fine” for using a phone while in the pub.
