The incident occurred around 11am this morning, Saturday, March 7, on Greenfarm Road in Newton Mearns.
Pictures shared with the Glasgow Times show a car which has mounted a wall with the struck lamp post underneath the vehicle.

An onlooker, David Hampton, said: “The owner of the bungalow was in the garden at the time and heard the crash, then saw the car over the fence.
“His wall was destroyed.”
Police and fire crews attended the scene, and the road was briefly blocked while the car was recovered.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the crash.
Cops have confirmed that the driver has been charged in connection with road traffic offences and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11am on Saturday, 7 March, 2026, we received a report of a crash involving one vehicle on Greenfarm Road, Newton Mearns.
“Emergency services attended, and no serious injuries were reported.
“The driver was charged in connection with road traffic offences and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
