A former Kent bowling coach has joined a city club as a player-coach ahead of the 2026 summer.
Robbie Joseph, who also played for the county between 2004 and 2011 and in 2014, will link up with the Kent League Championship team, Canterbury, who will be skippered by Isaac Dilkes.

A club spokesman said: “Robbie joins Canterbury CC as a player-coach, bringing his experience, leadership and passion for developing players to the club, both on and off the field.
“Please join us in welcoming Robbie to the club.”
Right-arm bowler Joseph made 110 appearances for Kent across two playing spells, in which he took 230 wickets across all formats.
Antiguan-born Joseph also turned out for Leeward Islands in the Caribbean and Leicestershire during his playing career.
Since retirement, Joseph had been a performance coach of Cricket Namibia and worked for Gloucestershire before he moved “home” to Kent as bowling coach under then-head coach Matt Walker ahead of the 2024 season.
With Canterbury narrowly missed out on promotion to Kent League’s top flight last term, as they finished 12 points behind second-placed Whitstable in third, Joseph, now 44, will hope to ensure his new side go one better this time around.
Canterbury’s 2026 league campaign will begin a trip to Broadstairs on Saturday, May 9.
Meanwhile, Premier Division side St Lawrence & Highland Court have confirmed their overseas signing ahead of the new season.
Australian seam bowling all-rounder Iain Carlisle represents Tasmanian Tigers and made his first-class debut for them in 2023.
Carlisle has also previously represented Australia at under-19 level.
On signing for St Lawrence, 26-year-old Carlisle said: “I’m super excited to be joining ‘The Shrimps’ for the UK summer.
“I’ve heard great things about the club and am looking forward to contributing.”
St Lawrence’s first league game of the season will see them visit Bexley on Saturday, May 9.
