Fire in Dartford Tunnel - emergency services on the scene of A282 incident at Dartford Crossing - UK Daily: Tech, Science, Business & Lifestyle News Updates

One of the two tunnels at the Dartford Crossing was closed this evening following reports of a vehicle fire.

Emergency services were at the scene and queues of more than a mile backed up on the A282 northbound on the approach to the tunnels.

The blaze forced the closure of the right-hand bore – closing two of the four lanes available.

The left-hand bore, the smaller of the two tunnels, remained open.

However, fire crews and emergency teams cleared the vehicle and both tunnels were reopened by 8.30pm.
