With Lunar New Year taking place on February 17, this year celebrating the Year of the Horse, many south east Londoners may be looking to celebrate the festivities with a side of dim sum and spring rolls.

We’ve rounded up the best Chinese restaurants in Bromley based on ratings, number of reviews and what diners consistently praise on Tripadvisor – and why they are so popular:

    Sanxia Renjia, Bromley

    Tripadvisor rating: Around 3.5–4.0

Sanxia Renjia focuses on authentic regional Chinese cooking, particularly dishes inspired by Sichuan and Hubei cuisine.

The menu features both spice-led dishes such as boiled beef in chilli oil, mapo tofu, dry-fried green beans and fish served in hot oil, alongside more familiar UK-Chinese favourites like crispy shredded beef and sweet and sour dishes.

Tripadvisor reviewers regularly praise the menu for its depth of flavour, with diners describing the food as “packed with spice and depth without just being hot”.

Several customers also describe it as their “go-to local Chinese”, highlighting the freshness of the dishes and good value for money.

Diners can choose from classic starters, crispy aromatic duck, chow mein and beef ho fun, as well as seafood dishes, dim sum and set menus designed for sharing.

TripAdvisor reviewers frequently describe it as a “lovely local Chinese,” with particular praise going to its flavourful beef flat noodles, smoky wok-style cooking and generous portion sizes.

    Oriental Garden, Bromley

    TripAdvisor rating: 4.0

Winning a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice award, Oriental Garden operates an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet served to the table for a set price, offering a selection of starters, soups, crispy aromatic duck or lamb, Cantonese-style mains, noodles and vegetarian dishes.

Reviewers consistently praise the quality of the food and the value for money, with one describing it as “second to none”.

Several visitors say it is a popular choice for celebrations and family occasions, with one calling it the “perfect Sunday lunch buffet”.
