Bosses at a popular Kent wildlife park say a huge spike in visitors lead to congestion in their car park as families make the most of half term.
Long queues formed outside Howletts Wild Animal Park, near Canterbury, today as families flocked to enjoy a special day out.

It comes as it was announced every child, aged 0 to 15, gets free entry to the site between February 13 and 22 when accompanied by a full-paying adult as part of Howletts Wild Winter.
Bosses say thousands of families have already visited this half term, causing congestion in the site’s car park this afternoon, with the go-free offer selling out for today.
But those living in the area have been left frustrated by the growing traffic jam.
One resident said: “I would have preferred if they had informed people and then got out in the road to control the traffic.

“That being said, I’ve never experienced a hold like this before.
“The zoo is world-renowned, and it is a good local employer – it’s a privilege to have it nearby.”
A spokesperson for Howletts said: “We’ve been fortunate enough to welcome thousands of Kent families so far this half term, and we have noticed roads around the park are busier than usual.
“As guests are enjoying the early spring sunshine, we saw a spike in guest arrivals around lunchtime, leading to a brief period of congestion in our car park.
“During the busy half-term period and with roadworks in place around the nearby villages, we advise guests to arrive at the park for opening at 10am.
“This will allow them to maximise their time and enjoy a fun-packed family day out.”
They added that tickets are available for the rest of the half term and strongly advise booking in advance to secure places.
Howletts also recently announced the latest addition of a baby western lowland gorilla.
Proud parents Sanki and Djanghou welcomed the birth just before Christmas.
It marks the 156th gorilla birth at Howletts Wild Animal Park.
