Virginia Evans, author of the acclaimed novel The Correspondent, will appear at Bookface Sip & Swap at Glaschu Restaurant & Bar on Sunday, March 8 at 9.30am.
The Correspondent, Evans’s debut novel, is told entirely through letters.
It introduces Sybil Van Antwerp, a retired lawyer who explores life, love and loss through her correspondence.
Though initially published with modest expectations, The Correspondent has built extraordinary momentum through word of mouth, praise from established authors and strong sales.
The book has been reprinted multiple times, featured on major literary lists and sold widely in the US and internationally.
Tickets for the event are available to purchase online here: https://tinyurl.com/mrxkc5b9.
The event is part of Bookface’s ongoing mission to bring readers together in relaxed, inspiring settings.
Heather Suttie, founder of Bookface, said: “We’ll be in conversation with Virginia about her unforgettable and sharp-edged protagonist, the subtle Scottish thread woven through the novel and the remarkable rise of her debut.”
