A series of overnight closures will take place at the Dartford Crossing as part of routine maintenance, with disruptions affecting both the tunnels and the QEII Bridge.
National Highways has scheduled the works between Monday, February 16, and Monday, February 23.
The Dartford Crossing is one of the UK’s most heavily used routes, linking Kent and Essex via the M25 and serving as a critical artery for traffic in the south east.
Motorists are being advised to check live travel updates, follow signed diversions, and allow additional time for journeys, especially during the school half-term when traffic is expected to be lighter but potentially still affected.
From Monday, February 16, until Thursday, February 19, maintenance will take place each night, with closures of the west tunnel and the entry slip road at junction 1A northbound from 9pm to 5.30am, and southbound carriageway and lanes between junctions 1A and 2 from 10pm to 5.30am.
On Friday, February 20, southbound closures between junctions 1A and 2 will run from 11pm until 6am on Saturday, February 21, with the west tunnel and junction 1A entry slip road closed northbound from 9pm to 5.30am.
On Saturday, February 21, the west tunnel will be closed northbound from 10pm until 5am on Sunday, February 22.
The final closure during the period will take place in the east tunnel northbound, from 10.30pm on Sunday, February 22, until 5.30am on Monday, February 23. During this closure, there will be no access over the Dartford Crossing for vehicles over 4.8m.
National Highways has advised drivers to use the designated diversion routes and plan journeys outside the closure times where possible.
