Joining the airport’s existing three daily A380 flights, this marks a first for London Gatwick as it becomes Emirates’ first London gateway to be serviced by the A350 airbus.
This is the fourth daily service for the UK, with Emirates already offering what it describes as a record 146 weekly flights to the UK, including 87 to London.
The A350 boasts state-of-the-art interiors across all cabins.
This includes lie-flat business class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, wireless charging in Business Class, digital inflight menus, and electric window blinds with an Emirates Ghaf tree motif in premium classes.
Passengers can also enjoy modern inflight entertainment systems and enhanced WiFi connectivity.
The inflight entertainment systems in the A350 feature 4K and 4K HDR displays.
Wi-Fi connectivity is now being provided via ViaSat’s Global Xpress satellite network, ensuring users can stay connected throughout their journey.
The aircraft is structured in a three-class configuration: 32 business class seats; 28 premium economy; and 238 economy class seats.
Known officially as Emirates flight EK069, this service leaves Dubai at 5.05pm and lands at Gatwick at 8.50pm.
The return flight, EK070, departs from Gatwick at 11.55pm and gets to Dubai at 11am.
The intention behind these timings is to provide a convenient timetable for passengers flying between the two cities.
The UK welcomed the A350 for the first time in January 2025, with Edinburgh being the first destination in Emirates’ global network to receive this new service.
With Gatwick now joining the list, more global cities such as Adelaide, Montreal, Mumbai, and Istanbul are now being served by Emirates’ newest aircraft.
In line with this development, Emirates passengers can expect increased efficiency, comfort, and choice with these new additions to the airline’s fleet.
