Stephen Morning admitted he assaulted his ex-partner on June 8, last year, in Dee Drive in Paisley.
The 47-year-old, who has previous convictions of a domestic nature, seized the woman by her body and grabbed her by the ponytail and punched her.
The procurator fiscal depute today told Paisley Sheriff Court the couple had been married for 19 years and separated in October 2023.
She explained: “On June 8, last year, Morning and his ex-partner were in her car on Dee Drive in Paisley.
“She pulled the car over and removed the accused from within.
“He then grabbed and pushed her.
“The woman tried to attempt to return to the car but the accused grabbed her by the ponytail and punched her on the head.
