Albion suffered a disappointing one-nil home loss to rivals Crystal Palace on Sunday, February 8.

Four men in total were arrested in connection to the heated fixture.

One man was arrested at Brighton Station amid a huge police operation for the game.

The man was pinned to the ground by officers in the forecourt of the station as fans made their way to the Amex.

Crystal Palace fans were kettled in at The Bright Helm in West Street at around midday before they were escorted to Brighton Station through the rear entrance by officers, vans, and mounted police.

There was also a significant police presence at the Amex stadium ahead of the match, with several police vans pictured at the ground.

Additional safety measures were in force at the stadium, with a special train for away supporters, who were escorted back to Falmer railway station.

The Terrace was also only open to home fans.

Of the four men to be arrested, three have been released on bail, while one was charged and later fined.

Liam Green, 20, of Hickling Walk, Crawley, was arrested after the game.

Later that day, he was charged with four counts of failing to comply with a football banning order in accordance with the Football Spectators Act 1989, and was remanded into custody.

He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 9, and was ordered to pay a fine of £197.

A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drunk and disorderly behaviour and assault of an emergency worker.

A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm, or distress.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault.

All three men have been bailed while enquiries are ongoing.
