A lane on the affected road was blocked but traffic has now been cleared
A two-vehicle collision in Belfast this morning is causing long delays for commuters as authorities deal with the incident.
Traffic Watch NI described the incident as “serious”, after it took place in the Upper Knockbreda Road/Galwally Road area.
PSNI attended the incident, which saw knock-on delays affecting traffic, with the outer lane obstructed in the Lisburn-bound direction.

A police spokesman said: “Road users are advised of traffic disruption due to a road traffic collision on the Upper Knockbreda Road on the Forestside bound side. Please expect delays.”
The incident is now believed to have been cleared to the hard shoulder, and all lanes on the road have been reported as open. Drivers are encouraged to exercise caution when passing through the area.
