Tipsy Mares is due to open at 34 Church Road, Hove, which was formerly home to The Plotting Parlour.
The new venue describes itself as “a specialist wine bar with a difference”, also serving cocktails, craft ale, local cheese and charcuterie boards.
At the end of December, Tipsy Mares shared on social media: “We’ve got the keys and we are in. Renovations start now.
“See you very soon.”
The business is yet to share the opening date but it advertised vacancies for staff in January.
The Plotting Parlour in Hove was the award-winning cocktail bar’s second venue, with its original site remaining open in Steine Street, Kemp Town.
In December, it announced on social media: “It’s with a very heavy heart that we say thank you to every friend and familiar face who has walked through our door since July 2023. This weekend will be our last in Hove.
“A huge thank you to the incredible team who poured their energy, passion, and craft into making this place what it is. You created something truly special.
“Although we’re saying goodbye to our Hove home, our bar in Kemp Town is very much alive and kicking – ready to welcome anyone who had planned to visit us here.”
The Plotting Parlour offers guests “signature creations and classic cocktails made with the best locally sourced, seasonal ingredients”, as well as small plates.
