Ross Brogan, of Glasgow, befriended the victims on the social media messaging app Snapchat.
The 31-year-old bombarded four teenagers, all under the age of 16, with indecent communications and obscene videos, offering payment if they would reciprocate.
The High Court in Glasgow heard that the software engineer spoke to the boys via the app and quickly tried to exploit their ‘friendships’ for his own gratification.
Prosecutors told how Brogan demanded intimate images and videos of the victims in return for Xbox or PlayStation codes.

He also left sex toys at a pre-arranged drop-off point, instructing that they be used in indecent photos and footage which should be sent to him.
Brogan also threatened to hurt one boy’s family if he didn’t obey.
He pleaded guilty to six sexual offence charges, all involving schoolboys, between 2021 and 2024 at a hearing on January 5, 2026.

Brogan returned to the High Court in Glasgow on Tuesday, February 3, for sentencing.
He was jailed for 10 years and six months, with a further three-year sentence extension, during which time he will be subject to close monitoring and supervision.
Brogan’s name was also added to the sex offenders register indefinitely.
The Crown and Procurator Fiscal (COPFS) stated that it is their priority to tackle this kind of offending against children.
Procurator Fiscal Faye Cook said: “Ross Brogan’s behaviour was predatory and despicable. He targeted young boys and exploited them for his own depraved ends.
“Our thoughts are with the children and their loved ones as they attempt to move on with their lives.
“COPFS is committed to protecting children and prosecuting robustly those who harm – or mean to harm – young people.
“We will seek justice using every tool at our disposal. Anyone with knowledge or experience of similar offending is encouraged to come forward, report it and seek support.”

Detective Inspector Steven Palmer added: “Brogan is a depraved sexual offender who gave no thought to his victims, just using them for his sexual gratification.
“These boys have been deeply impacted by his actions, and I hope this sentence brings them some comfort.
“I want to acknowledge the strength of all who provided information to police in this case. Brogan’s conviction is down to them.
“Police Scotland will fully investigate abuse wherever it occurs and whoever the perpetrator is, no matter how long ago it happened.
“I’d encourage anyone with concerns about sexual abuse to contact officers or one of our support services who will listen and investigate.”
