The Gills were hoping for a third win on the spin tonight after successive victories against Newport County and Harrogate Town.

A statement from Cheltenham this morning said: “We regret to inform supporters that tonight’s Sky Bet League Two fixture with Gillingham at the EV Charger Points Stadium has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

“A pitch inspection was carried out at 9:30am after persistent heavy rainfall overnight in the area that has continued into this morning.

“Match officials appointed by the EFL inspected the surface at the EV Charger Points Stadium and made the decision to postpone the clash, with no prospect of pitch conditions improving in time for this evening.

“Tickets purchased for tonight’s fixture will be valid for the rearranged date.

“Supporters wanting a refund will be able to do so by contacting or visiting the ticket office once the rearranged date is confirmed.”

Next up for the Gills is a home game against Bromley this Saturday.
