The southbound closure of the A282 Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, planned to take place tonight (January 24) will not go ahead because the west Dartford Tunnel northbound remains closed.

This closure prevents the east tunnel from being used as a diversion route for the bridge, according to National Highways South-East.

A northbound closure of the east tunnel remains in place tonight.

Closure begin at 9.30pm and will remain in effect until 5am tomorrow (January 25).

In a statement, National Highways South-East said: “Please be aware that the closure of the #A282#QEIIBridge southbound planned to take place tonight has been cancelled.”
