A prison guard who tattooed her convict lover’s nickname on her neck and had sex with him in a prayer room has been jailed.
Isabelle Dale had a relationship with inmate Shahid Sharif while working at HMP Swaleside, on Sheppey.

The 23-year-old’s love affair with the 33-year-old, who is serving a 12-year sentence for robbery, began at HMP Coldingley in Surrey.
Yesterday, she was jailed for three-and-a-half years at Southwark Crown Court.
On July 19, 2022, Dale and Sharif were seen entering a multi-faith room and stayed in there for four minutes while two other prisoners waited outside.
While no CCTV showed what happened inside the place of worship, when they emerged, Dale appeared to “adjust her belt”, prosecutor Kieran Brand said during her eight-day trial at Southwark Crown Court.
She also received a message from Sharif after the encounter, which said: “It was good sharing dat love today ur pxxxxxx ammaazzzeeeingggggg.”

During her time at HMP Coldingley, she also had a relationship with another inmate, Connor Money, from Dartford.
The 28-year-old was jailed for nine years after causing the death of a young father after crashing his BMW 5-series while speeding at more than 140mph on the M2.
When Sharif was moved to HMP Swaleside, in Eastchurch, the romance continued, and Dale visited him on three separate occasions between September and November 2022.
She bought her own £3,000 engagement ring while she wrote love letters to Sharif, telling of her dreams of their life together on the outside.
She also had “Sneaky”, his nickname, tattooed on the back of her neck.

The prison officer also operated Sharif’s drug-dealing Snapchat account and sourced synthetic cannabis from an associate of his called Lilea Sallis.
Sallis then allegedly plotted to smuggle spice into the prison for Sharif.
Dale was arrested on November 1, 2022, on her last visit to Sharif at Swaleside. She told police she believed he was going to propose to her on that visit.
Officers found the equipment to smuggle spice into jail in the boot of her car.
She denied two counts of misconduct in a public office and conspiracy to convey a List A prohibited article into prison, but a jury found Dale guilty in November last year.
Sharif, who pleaded guilty to conspiring with the two women and others unknown to convey drugs into prison, was jailed for two years and three months.
Sallis, of East Sussex, denied it but was convicted of conspiracy to convey a ‘List A’ prohibited article into prison and was jailed for two-and-a-half years.
