The 16-year-old, who cannot be name for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to murdering Joshua Ingram at Seaford railway station.

Joshua, also 16, died outside the station on September 10 last year from two stab wounds.

Police said he was killed in a targeted attack.

The teenager accused of murder appeared at Lewes Crown Court today (January 16) in a grey sweatshirt and jogging bottoms.

He confirmed his name before the charges were put to him.

The teenager denied murder and conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm.

He pleaded guilty to having a knife on the day Joshua was killed.

Two more boys – aged 14 and 16 – have already denied conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent.

Magistrates in Brighton heard Joshua was stabbed in the back and side.

Prosecutor Joseph Lewis told the court: “On September 10, the victim and a friend were walking to the train station where he was ambushed.”

The prosecutor said a knife was plunged into Joshua in his back and again in his side.

“This was a targeted and vicious attack over nothing more than a very minor drug debt,” he said.

A trial is expected in the summer.
