A suspected organised criminal operation has been disrupted near Deal after police seized a large amount of drugs. On Saturday afternoon (January 10) police attended a property in The Strand, Walmer, where a large cannabis grow was uncovered.

In excess of 300 plants were found and rooms had been converted into growing rooms across multiple floors of the address. Officers dismantled the cultivation, and removed items including growing equipment, lights and fans.

The building has been secured and enquiries into the production of drugs remain ongoing. District Commander for Dover, Ch Insp Liz Cokayne-Delves said: “Cultivations like this one can help to fund serious organised criminality so officers work relentlessly to identify these sites and take them apart.

“By making life difficult for criminals by disrupting their operations, it helps to keep our community safe.”
